Our users with Intel wireless cards (some Lenovo W-series, some Dell 6500\6400 series) are still pretty much stuck hard-wiring - which, as you can imagine, doesn't go over real well with users. I finally found a workaround for some of our Lenovo PCs with Broadcom wireless cards: replacing the Broadcom 802.11n driver with a Broadcom 802.11 b\g\n driver. Over the last two weeks we have tried literally everything we can think of to solve the connectivity issue. This worked for some, but 4 or 5 machines still cannot connect. Believing it was an issue with stale IPs (as we had reset the DHCP server during our maintenance) we did the release\renew thing and confirmed a new lease was granted by the DHCP server. This, however, is where it gets weird.Īfter completing maintenance and going home for the night - and foolishly thinking we hadn't run into issues - we arrived the next day to find that about half of our twenty-some-ought in-office personnel's PC's were getting a limited connectivity error. We also modified some settings on our six Cisco Aironet 1040 access points to increase throughput, as our previous IT team had set our APs to drastically throttle bandwidth - office staff has been complaining of slow wireless for quite some time, and frankly there was no good reason to continue throttling. Including applying updates to our Hyper-V-based virtual hosts, as well as our SAN. I see an update related to wifi, and installed it.About two weeks ago we performed maintenance on our on-premise infrastructure in our office. It says already latest driver is installed. Select the compatible adapter( I have Broadcom 802.11n Network Adapter there) and select update. I used all the solutions gave on internet like, netsh winsock reset, disable netbios over tcp/ip (for wifi network connection), and open device manager, update driver, and My wifi device name is Broadcom 802.11n Network Adapter(it shows in device manager). If it is a hardware problem, wifi in win7 should not work. Now I downloaded the compatible drivers from that dell site, but still it is not working. This morning I have installed windows 7 and after installing wifi driver in it, my wifi worked fine. When I am trying to connect to that router, it says limited connectivity. I only used connectify to share my lan internet over wifiĪnd it worked fine. Till last month, I never connected my laptop over wifi as i dont have any devices like router etc.
I have dell vostro 3550 laptop with windows 8.1 installed.
